THE XPOSE: is a musical-thriller film directed by Anant Ananth Narayan Mahadevan starring Himesh Reshammiya, Sonali Raut, Zoya Afroz, Yo Yo Honey Singh. Its said to be inspired by real-life events of Bollywood during the 60’s.The film’s characters Zara and Chandni are reportedly based on Parveen Babi and Zeenat Aman.
PLOT: Alec D'Costa(Irrfan Khan) described the story of 60's bollywood. The film started off with the sudden demise of a rising star Zara Peter Fernandes(Sonali Raut) in a star studded after award party in 5star hotel. She had been murdered, actually. The finger of suspicion pointed towards several people who were associated with her. Ravi Kumar (Himesh Reshammiya) was a cop turned Southern superstar and was on the brink of making his grand entry into Bollywood, worked with Zara in th same film. Now Ravi started investigation to xpose the original murderer and how did he do it was rest of the story with lots of twists & turns.
PERFORMANCES: Himesh should be praised for working hard to loose arnd 20kgs weight to fit in the character of Ravi Kumar. No doubt, this is his best performance till date.Zoya Afroz as Chadni looked beautiful. Yo Yo Honey Singh as music director Kenny Damania was ok.
MUSIC: composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The songs "Ice Cream Khaungi","Surroor","Catch Me If You Can" ,"Hai Apna Dil Toh Awara" are good to listen but best composition is "Dard Dilo Ke" sung by Md.Irfan.
Simple story, poor editing but Bunty Rathore’s dialogues needs a special mention here.It is loud and confident and is in line with Ravi Kumar’s character.especially with dialogues like "Raja ka beta bhale hi nanga paida ho par woh hota Rajkumar hi hai", “Ravi Kumar langot ka bahut pakka hai, woh bistar pe neend ke alawa kuch nahin leta, “Tere shareer main itna khoon nahi hoga jitna Ravi Kumar ek baar main moot deta hai.”
Overall,The Xpose is a typical bollywood masala entertainer and somewhat I feel that this is not a bad film.U can watch once for timepass..
