SHAANDAAR

SHAANDAAR: is an Indian romantic comedy film, directed by Vikas Bahl stars Alia Bhatt,Shahid Kapoor,Pankaj Kapur,Sushma Seth,Sanah Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor.

PLOT: The princess is an orphaned child, Alia (Alia Bhatt), who has been adopted by a kind man, Bipin Arora (Pankaj Kapur). He lives in a palace with a beautiful, but bossy, rich queen (Niki Aneja) and an overweight and sweet daughter, Isha (Sanah Kapoor, Pankaj Kapoor’s daughter) whose marriage has been fixed with brother multi-millionaire Mr.Fundwani(Sanjay Kapoor) The adopted princess cannot sleep. The kind father gifts her a box of dreams and hopes she will meet a prince who will put her to sleep. As in all fairy tales, there is a witch. She is a wheelchair-bound powerful naani(Sushma Seth), who lives in a castle in some unknown country.Main story the film takes place during a wedding between two families, which is nothing more than a deal to save both the bankrupt families, each counting on the other's wealth.Jagjinder Joginder(Shahid) is the wedding organiser.Jagjinder & Alia met and fall for each other.incidentally,Jagjinder is also insomniac.Rest of the film is about marriage,alia-jagjinder love story,father-daughter relationship.

PERFORMANCES: Shahid,Alia,Pankaj Kapoor's acting are awesome.Shahid-Alia's chemistry is very good.Sanah Kapoor (who’s Pankaj Kapoor’s real-life daughter and Shahid’s half-sister) brings grace & will literally steal your heart away with her dimpled smile and natural banter in the movie.

MUSIC: composed by Amit Trivedi. The complete album is good specially "Gulaabo" ,"Sham shaandaar","Nazdeekiyaan".

Director Vikas Bahl wanted to make a fairy tale.He became partially successful but he added lots of useless, unnecessary scenes that ruined the charm of the film.Audience will loose interest.Script is poorly written. Length of the film could be 30mins less.Good use of animation can be seen. The film had the potential to be a good film

Overall,Shaandaar is an average film & can be watched once for acting of leading actors & music.
