DRISHYAM

DRISHYAM: is an Indian thriller drama film directed by Nishikant Kamat. It features Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran ,Tabu ,Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta .The film is a remake of Jeethu Joseph's 2013 Malayalam film Drishyam.

PLOT: The film is set in the Goan countryside where Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) lives with his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju (Ishita Dutta) and Anu (Mrinal). A fourth-standard school dropout, Vijay runs a cable business and is a hardcore film buff. All in all, Vijay has a blissed-out existence. Till his teenage daughter Anju(Ishita) goes for a inter-school nature camp. There she encounters Sameer Deshmukh aka Sam(Risabh Chaddha)the son of IG, Meera Deshmukh(Tabu) & wealthy businessman Mahesh Deshmukh(Rajat Kapoor). Sam shoots a video-clip of the Anju in the shower. On their return home, Sam seeks to trade `favours' from Anju. Anju & her mom are negotiating when an untoward incident occurs.Anju accidentally killed Sam & they buried the body in the garden. After knowing all incidents,Vijay makes plan to save his family as he knows that police would surely come for investigation. On the other hand, disappearance of Sam makes Meera worried & she uses her police force to find Sam at any cost. This is the point where Drishyam takes off and sets the tone for a gripping cat and mouse game between the system and a technically illiterate villager. And all through the struggle, you are not sure who'll win in the end.

PERFORMANCE: Ajay Devgn is as brilliant as Tabu. Not only their acting, their expressions also are excellent.Shriya looks very hot & did a descent job.Actress Tanushree Dutta's sister Ishita Dutta did good job as Vijay's elder daughter Anju. But one character whose piercing eyes and proverbial ruthlessness will haunt you for days is Kamlesh Sawant as Sub-Inspector Gaitonde. He is so good at bad things that you would wish the worst for him.

MUSIC: composed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The song "Carbon copy" is good.
Sameer Phatarpekar's background score is worth mentioning.

Drishyam works because you feel for every character in the film. Drishyam works because it leaves you stunned. Drishyam works because it keeps you glued to your seat till the last moment. Drishyam works because it's a finely crafted suspense thriller after a really long time.

Overall,Drishyam is a brilliant film & definitely a must watch film.
