BAAHUBALI- The Beginning

BAAHUBALI- The Beginning : is an Indian Telugu epic historical fiction film directed by S. S. Rajamouli featuring Prabhas, Rana, Tamannaah,Anushka Shetty,Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Adivi Sesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sudeep. It is the first of two cinematic parts. This is the most expensive production in the history of Indian cinema to date.

PLOT: A baby boy is miraculously found alive in the middle of a river by a few villagers. They raise him as their own. Named Shiva (Prabhas), the boy grows up to be an adventurous commoner until his past comes back to haunt him.Shiva lives at the foot of a massive waterfall that fascinates and frustrates him at the same time because he is never able to scale the slippery rocks or the mountain. But when he eventually makes it to the top of the mountain, he discovers a kingdom in turmoil. Bhallaladeva (Rana Daggubati), the despotic king of Mahishmati, has imprisoned Queen Devasena (Anushka Shetty) for many years now. Shiva, unaware of his connection to the kingdom, spends his days wooing Avanthika (Tamannaah Bhatia), one of the followers of the queen. But when he replaces her in a mission to rescue Devasena, his past unknowingly catches up with him. Turns out, Shiva is royalty and heir to the Mahishmati kingdom. Son of the noble king Amarendra Baahubali (Prabhas in a dual role) and queen Devasena (Anushka Shetty), he must now fight the evil king Bhallala Deva (Rana Daggubati), who tortured his parents and forcefully seized their kingdom.

PERFORMANCES: Prabhas is brilliant.Rana Daggubati is also very good. They hugely contribute to making this routine good vs bad film a visual extravaganza.Tamanna looks very gorgeous and her acting is good.Other supporting casts justify their respective roles.

MUSIC: composed by M.M.Kreem.

Main attraction of the film is  VFX & CGI.The CGI used in the film, Baahubali is easily comparable to the Hollywood greats like The Lord Of The Rings series and even the Harry Potter series that featured entire towns, cities and regions artificially developed to look realistic. Compared to the usual Indian standard of CGI work in films, the effort and detail that went into making Baahubali is visibly evident in the stunning waterfalls and the spectacular city of Mahishmati.
n spite of intense visual effects, Rajamouli never lets the story slacken, revealing twist after twist right until the end. He uses every single cliché – song and dance, mother-son bond, good-versus-evil battle and sibling rivalry – but doesn’t stereotype them.

Overall,Baahubali is great film and its a must must watch film of 2015.Please watch it on the big screen.
